  About Jat
According to the Hindu mythology, Jats are believed to have come into existence from Shiva’s locks. Researches have been performed and genetic studies have been done to know more about the origin of the Jat people. Today, the lifestyle and the cultural diversity of Jats have become a centre of attention for all. Mainly inhabiting the Punjab region of northern India and Pakistan, the Jat community also has the distinction of being one of the most flourishing in India.

Though a substantial Jat population also lives in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia and European countries, they are mostly inhabitants of states like Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Sindh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan in northern India. Known the world over for their valiance and bravery, Jats in India have long been serving the Indian Army and the Pakistan Army.

J4Jat makes an endeavour to assemble all the Jat people in the world under one umbrella. We salute and respect the Jat people for their diverse culture and lifestyle. People belonging to the Jat community occupy prominent positions in different spheres of life, particularly in the political of India and Pakistan and in the latter’s bureaucracy. In the state of Punjab, Jats have predominated political leadership. The Jat community has been known to be brave and ready to sacrifice.

India has always been seen as a melting pot of numerous faiths and cultures. Even the Jat community does not belong to just one religion. Jats are a mix of different faiths – Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism. Whichever religion they may follow, Jats share a brotherly spirit which is a delight to experience for all. During festive occasions, the amity among Jats can be experienced at its best.

Today, Jats are making their presence felt even in the field of sports and games. You can read in detail about this by checking out our Jats in Sports section. Whether it is the game of cricket, golf, wrestling or other athletic games, Jat people are proving their excellence in every field. There are a number of Jat athletes that have represented India at the international platform, have created history and brought honour to the country.

A Jat is fearless and frank in expression. He neither likes to receive or extend flattery. Jats maintain both friendship and enmity for generations. An old Jat will not die in peace unless he has explained to his descendants the good or evil deeds done unto him by others and taken promise for a return favour or revenge. They are a very hardy lot. There is a popular saying that considers a Jat dead only after thirteen days have passed after his death.

J4Jat has recently launched an exclusively free service for all the Jats in India and abroad – Jat Matrimonial. We sincerely wish to help Jats find matching partners for themselves within their community. In the near future, J4Jat plans to expand its services even more. So, keep visiting!
